Wedding ceremonies are considered as the happiest occasions in the lives of both bride and groom. It is always felt as a necessity that the memories of such beautiful occasions should be saved in the form of photographs. But how to save those memories in a beautiful form is a challenge to all the photographers.
For that it is always necessary that what kind of photographs should be taken and in what way?There are normally three stages in wedding, first stage which is before the arrival of bride and groom, second the wedding ceremony and its related happenings and last when the married couple leaves the hall to start their new life. The following are some essential tips which should be always followed for successful wedding photography;
(1) Arrival of guests:
Before the arrival of couple, usually the guests arrive. Whenever guests are arriving, photographs should be taken when they are entering the ceremony hall, secondly when they are greeting people especially the couple’s family members and lastly there photographs should also be taken when they are sitting and desperately waiting for the ceremony to start.
(2) Arrival of couple:
When couple arrives, firstly photograph of the bride should be taken from one side in such a way that the groom does not appear in the picture but his hand. Then, the photograph of groom should be taken in such a way that the bride does not appear in the picture but her hand. Then photographs of the couple should be taken in such a way that both are appearing in the picture. After their entrance when they are walking towards the stage, their photographs should be taken from different angles. During that particular time, photographs of guests should also be taken in which their facial expressions are indicating the fact that they are extremely happy to see the couple together. When the couple reaches the stage then their photographs should be taken from different locations i.e. front, back, left, right and also from the top if possible.
Like the other photographs, during the ceremony the photographs should also be taken in a similar way i.e. from different locations and facial expressions of both the bride and groom should appear to be prominent in the pictures. And at the same time many photographs of all the guests should also be taken which would reflect the feelings of joy and happiness on watching the ceremony.
(4) Departure of Couple:
When the couple is departing from the marriage hall, than again their photographs should be taken in a similar fashion as they were when the couple had entered the ceremony hall. Individual as well as collective photographs of the bride and groom must be taken and again, since they are about to start there new life, their facial expressions should hold prominence. Photographs of all the guests should be taken, the way they are watching the couple leaving the hall.
Lastly, all the photographs should be taken in such a way that whoever watches it later on, one thing should be reflected always that it was a very important and happy occasion. Beauty should exist in all the photographs and it is always better to produce like cheap canvas printing of the photographs. If there exist any photographs which are different fromthe rest and do not go with the beauty, so subject to possibility they should be eliminated from the photo album.
Saving memories of an important occasion like marriage through photography is extremely important. Which photographs should be taken and in what way is a great challenge for the photographer. One should always take photographs which when viewed later serve as a treat to watch.
